Wondering how to reassure your employees during these tough economic times? Here are some suggestions:

  1. Bad news travels better in person. If you have to deliver bad news, try doing it in person (a meeting for e.g.) rather than via email.
  2. Have and share (with employees) a detailed road map / plan of the company’s intended steps over the next few months or year.
  3. Solicit ideas and suggestions. Solicit ideas from all departments on how to boost business and cut costs. It’s important to make employees feel like an integral part of the company, and part of a possible solution.
  4. Ensure managers are on the same page. Have them conduct departmental and one-on-one meetings. Managers can solicit concerns and get specific in their conversations with individual employees and groups of employees.
